I started my new job this week with the Nebraska Corn Board. So far, I've done a few things, but everyone around here seems to be sick... so it's quiet. I'm just hoping that since I've already had the bug, I'm immune to all these germs circulating in a State office!
Anyways, I love being a "city girl" and getting to commute, and getting to walk by and work right next to the beautiful capital building everyday. I know this will get old eventually, especially when it snows/ices, but for now, I'm living my secret dream to get to be a "city girl", wear "city girl suits" with "city girl work dress pumps" and cross busy "city streets" holding my "city girl coffee mug" and "city girl briefcase". Now, I know I'm a country girl at heart, and will always be....but this is SO fun for now!!
So, mission #1 out there for all my readers: go check out this awesome blog, Nebraska Corn Kernels and learn all about corn production in Nebraska! NE is the 3rd largest corn producing state in the U.S. -- producing more than 1.3 billion bushels of corn each year for livestock, ethanol and industrial uses. See...I'm learning already.

I miss wearing shitkickers.
Meee tooo! I so miss that about working in Kansas City! I dreamed every night of going home and riding my horse and yet waking up at the butt crack of dawn to feed cows, then head to work 40 miles away and go up the elevator and hear all the sirens, etc., all day! ahhh I miss that!
I love this...I always new you were meant to be a city girl in city girl suits, and city girl shoes:)
