Beauty Swap

I had fun participating in an ag-gal beauty swap through my friend Crystal, over on Crystal Cattle’s blog. Crystal paired me with Jamie (@jamielmay on Instagram and Twitter). Jamie is going to be a new mommy soon, so we had fun swapping pregnancy stories and talking about beauty items that are good for a quick fix. We also decided we are soul sisters when it comes to sewing, quilting and crafting!

And she sent me a rockin’ beauty box.

She totally encapsulated my fast-paced, working-mom lifestyle with these products. In it was: Oscar Blandi hair texture spray (love. – great for 2nd day hair), YES cucumber wipes (again, great for tired nights to wash my face fast – and very refreshing), Insta-Dri (dry painted nails in 30-seconds!), E.L.F. Brush, L’Bri products and Fake-Up (perfect for my tired eyes).

Last night I braved painting my nails (with the polish I got myself when I was shopping for Jamie’s beauty box :) ) after putting Chisum to bed, hoping that he wouldn’t wakeup mid-paint. I heard him stirring some while I was finishing up, and I used the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. I check my phone for a text message and by the time I got to my text, my nails were dry. Ah-mazing. No more smudges or worrying about getting my nails dry before I have to pick up the baby.

It was so much fun to get to know Jamie through this exchange and I’m glad I have a new friend. So excited to celebrate with her when Baby P arrives soon!

Chisum–5 months

Sweet boy, it’s been so much fun to watch you grow!

Months 1-5

Ronny and I had fun taking Chisum’s pictures this month. Of course, Chisum was all smiles because his Daddy was in the room. He was smiling, laughing and kicking his little heart out…

…until Mommy had to move him.

So it was Daddy to the rescue again to make it all better. DSC05277  DSC05278DSC05280

Then we decided to show how we can roll over – our new trick!DSC05282  DSC05283DSC05284

Chisum, at 5-months you:

  • Like eating cereal (started on 2/9/14). You didn’t like it when we started earlier, but we changed spoons and you became a fan.

  • Started rolling over from back to front (2/13/14)
  • Helped your Daddy turn 30
  • Love playing patty-cake and row your boat
  • Love bath time

  • Had your first ear infection :(
  • Like sitting at the table with Mom and Dad in your new high chair

Just a happy little guy! We are so blessed that God trusted us to raise you. We thank Him for you every day and are loving every moment. We love you.

A celebratory weekend

We were so grateful to be able to celebrate Chisum’s Dedication at church and Ronny’s 30th birthday this past weekend.

Chisum was dedicated to the Lord by Ronny and I vowing to raise him in a Christian home and with the understanding that Chisum was given to us by God to do His will. We are so blessed that God chose us to be Chisum’s parents and we honor God for this opportunity.

Pastor Curt did a great job sharing with our church. Chisum just smiled at him and the congregation as Curt walked down each aisle to introduce him to the church and ask for their support in helping us raise him.

Most all of our family came to Nebraska to celebrate with us. Our parents, all of our siblings, my grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousin, and some close family friends joined us. Since we were going to all be together, we also celebrated Ronny’s 30th birthday (which is today!) with a lunch following church.

The sign I got for Ronny must have been made in China. :) “Happy Bitrhday!”DSC05243DSC05239DSC05249DSC05252

These grandparents sure love their little greats!DSC05253DSC05258DSC05266DSC05263

Four generations.

Thank you so much to our family for making the effort to come – it meant a lot to us!

We praise and thank the Lord everyday for the gift that He has given to us in Chisum. We pray that He will guide us in raising him, that Chisum will love Jesus as much as we do, and that he will find strength and faith through God and seek Him in all that he does.
